It was started in 1797 by the famous Glaswegian entrepreneur, Sir Charles Tennant, who also founded the United Alkali Company, one of the forerunners of Imperial Chemical Industries (I.C.I.).

TTC is the leading UK manufacturer of colour, based beside the River Lagan in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We started life in 1949 when the Tennants Group started the company. Since then we have been producing a wide range of dispersions tailored to optimise their suitability to a range of applications. In 2016 TTC acquired Northwest Dispersions Ltd and also incorporated the business of Tennants Inks and Coatings Ltd, thus adding solvent, plasticiser and varnish products to our portfolio.

Today we export to over 50 countries and deliver excellence in colour for a range of markets (Textile, Paper, Paints & Coatings, Ink, Agriculture & Plastic).

Our technical team has a wealth of experience in colour science and formulation expertise; this coupled with our capacity to manufacture product batches from 30kg to 25 tonnes allows us to provide an unparalleled service.
